Invitation from the Institute of Vehicle Recovery

The IVR Group is inviting all members of the recovery sector and associated industries to visit the Institute’s new website at www.theivrgroup.org.

The formation of the IVR Group plus the launch of the new website, which was announced at the IVR’s AGM in March, is part of the ongoing rebranding of the Institute.

The recently launched site offers many new features and extensive information on various relevant topics including assisting IVR members and employers to identify and resolve their training requirements and solutions.

Alongside information about the National Training Scheme there is also a full breakdown of VR Training including an Introduction to Training, Instructor and Technician Training, plus training requirement guidelines.

The section on Module Information gives the aims and learning objectives of each Module, from VR1 – Health and Safety to VR23 – Bus and Coach Recovery.

The site also offers members, and employers, the opportunity to find a national training provider by searching either by technician category, training module or postcode.

The principal initial aim of the site is to keep members updated on industry developments and safety issues while also providing members and employers with an easy reference, to ensure training standards are maintained.

Over the coming months many more features/fields will be added to benefit IVR members.

A Forum, monitored by a leading IVR training professional, will give members an opportunity to ask for advice and/or assistance, air their views and generally ‘keep in touch’.

Mac Hobbs, chairman of the IVR Group said;

‘The last twelve months has been a busy time for the IVR with a number of major decisions, including the commissioning and launch of the website, being made.

The Group will continue to deal, on behalf of its members, with the most pressing issues in the industry today in order to provide a safer environment for those working in the roadside assistance and vehicle recovery sector and help shape the future of the industry. All I can add is ‘watch this space!’

Whether you are a member, thinking about becoming a member, an employer or just interested in developments within the recovery industry go to www.theivrgroup.org.

The IVR Group would like to know your views so once on the site please go to the Press and Media Enquiries, in the Contact Us section, and email your comments.
